Monday saw us complete the final section of the canal, with a mere 15 locks negotiated - one more will put us into the eastern Baltic. The crew are like a well rehearsed orchestra - just as well, as the very stiff westerly made some of the lock entries 'sporting'.  Mem marina providing the usual facilities, except restaurant closed due to private party. So BBQ in lieu, still in bright sunshine despite the wind. The UK really ought to adopt European time - the late evening sunshine is too good to waste.

Tomorrow Nicky and Hugh depart as planned, leaving skipper and mate to sail the remaining 120 miles to Stockholm by 26th.  Think we should manage that... But we are so very sorry to see N and H go: they have, as always, been marvellous fun and a terrific crew. See you aboard again soon we hope.
