This morning Aquila has said goodbye to her wonderful Phase 1 crew. No skipper could ever ask for a better team. Nothing was too much trouble for Peter and Bill: no task too big or small, nothing phased them and everything was viewed as fun and exciting. And wow, could they pull on the 18 lines that are handled from the cockpit! Asymmetric, reefs (all 3 at times), genoa, staysail, preventers, Gilbert, George, gybes, tacks: sometimes they'd done them all before breakfast!

So the skipper and Aquila are alone for 36 hours before the Mate, and Nicky and Hugh join. But lots to before then: laundry (happiness to a cruising skipper is a serviceable launderette that is not a two-day camel ride away), gas bottle refill (my critical path right now), shopping, maintenance (remember the definition of cruising: fixing boats in exotic places).
More later....if I can get a Wi-Fi connection....
