Still motoring.  Wind NE Force 3.  We decide to alter course 20 degrees Northwards to have a better wind angle when it does come. Sea calm. Blue Skies....

Not much to report.  Wind ENE Force 4. Still motoring. Broken cloud and stars, no moon yet,  884 to go. The boring engine bores our way through the sea.

06:45

An indifferent dawn, obscured by cloud cover on the horizon, however the wind has gone NE Force 4 and we’re sailing at last.  We’re only making 6 knots but at last it’s quiet.

The 100 foot Swan we were rafted up to in Horta has appeared on our Starboard quarter. HOPPETOSSE was doing about 10 knots  compared to our 8 but he has just dropped his sails.  We’re not sure what they are up to.

Yesterdays run was 170 miles, the last 4 ¼ hours of which were under sail.   I hope the rest of the run will be sans engine. 806 to go.
