10/6/09  12:30

We woke to large patches of blue sky and innocent fluffy clouds.  The Wind  shifted SW over night as expected, and we left at 08:00.  Steve was convinced the anchor was caught again but it came up with no problems.  The water maker diverter valve saga continues.  Steve  has by-passed it in order to make water.   This story has been going on  for a very long time. Anyway we’re having a very pleasant sail with the wind just behind the beam and should arrive Friday before dark. It wouldn’t matter if it were after dark as we’ve been there before and it is  very well lit.

21:00

It’s been an excellent sail so far. The wind is holding SSW Force 4/5  just on the beam. We had a few clouds and there are some squalls about but not near us.  The sunset wasn’t worth  shooting.

11/6/09   04:00

Wind has gone SW just forward of the beam and we’re flying over 9 knots with one reef in the main and in the Yankee. Broken cloud, stars and moonlight, just what the South Pacific is supposed to look like.

06:00  Two reefs in the Yankee and  1½ in the main...you can do that with a furling main....boat speed  still over 9 knots.

12:15

The winds eased a bit and we’re back on  full sails.

Noon to noon run was 192 miles.  We’ve done 225 since leaving, averaging just over 8  knots.  178 to go.
