Yesterday (Friday)we had a gentle sail around to the pass I had wanted to check out on the way here.

When we were a couple of miles away the wind suddenly switched off and we had to motor.

Late afternoon the water in the lagoon was like glass.  There were some  wonderful reflections in out newly painted shiny  hull. I also maaaged to capture the "green flash" as the sun dropped below the horizon.

Saturday  we went to a do organised by the tourist board with  many of the same locals who were part of the Moorea Tahiti Rendezvous we attended. Demetri and Steve enjoyed hurling Javelins at a coconut on top of high pole. The locals hit the  target several times out of  many dozens of throws.

The  local restaurateur who owns a long stretch of coast and 50 or so unspoilt acres had just received a biannual shipment from another island of  coconut crabs for his personal and not the restaurant’s consumption.   He was very proud of them. Sunday he is preparing a small feast.  He will get up at 4 to start  an underground fire.  At 8 they will bury a couple of small pigs in the  hot pit and at noon uncover them.
