The yacht club has  gone out of business and was bought by  a local two months ago who  is in   the  process of turning  it into  facility  for yachts but at  the moment only the bar is open ….

This morning, Demetra Russell and I went for a very long walk, had lunch and got back to the boat just before the rain really started bucketing down.  We had planned to do a repeat lagoon excursion which we did 9 years ago and enjoyed immensely but it has been cancelled tomorrow because of the weather.  We also aborted an evening dinner ashore as it was just pissing down and it seemed pointless booking a dive as the weather isn’t going to get any better for the next few days. I know I keep winging about the weather but is really is unbelievable.

We wake to a torrential downpour. It really is uxfgeugfing unbelievable.

There around 8000 locals living in various degrees of comfort.

I enclose a few snaps taken during our walk yesterday before the rains started in earnest.

We are thinking of fuelling up and leaving tomorrow as there seems little point in being here.
