17/08/09   04:00

We had a reasonably sunny day but no decent sunset.  Late afternoon, much earlier than expected, the strong wind began to moderate.  At 18:00 we poled out to get closer to the desired course.

At 02:00 we gibed and now out track is slightly North of course rather than considerably South.  I’m glad to say we’re not rolling as much as feared.

The wind is down to 15 knots or so and sea is also dropping.  I hope the wind lasts because there in nothing more uncomfortable that the remains of a big sloppy sea with no wind.

12:00

The wind came up a notch again and has gone NE Force 5.  Lot’s of sunshine and 7/8 knots boat speed.  Yesterday’s run was a respectable 187 miles.  238 to go.
