Steve and I went on a Segway tour of the town this morning. The Segway is a bizarre device which has a built in gyro.  You stand on two side by side wheels and when you lean forward you go forward and when you lean backward you go backwards and when you stand straight you stop.  You turn by dropping the handle either right or left. It can reach 13MPH.

I thought it would be good for taking photos but the device itself took most of our attention.  I did manage to hit a low lying branch at one point but the helmet saved me from anything serious.

In the afternoon Rob and I went for a long walk and wound up doing a tour of the William Paca house.  He was one of the signatories of the Declaration of Independence and the house and tour were surprisingly interesting.

The bit of water we are moored in is known as “Ego Alley.”  It seems every boat entering the harbour feels obliged to travel up this bit of water, turn around and travel back out to the main harbour in order to be seen and admired.  Today we had several wedding parties.

Tonight the Naval Academy put on a fire work show in honour of the 2010 class which is about to graduate.  I have to say it pales in comparison with the Greek Spetsian celebration know as the Armada in which a sea battle between the Greeks and the Turks is reinacted—the Greeks Always win---and the fireworks are extraordinary.
