Last night it started raining Ushuaia and hasn’t stopped.  We left at 10:30 this morning and the wind was quiet enough that the manoeuvre wasn’t too difficult for any of the boats involved. As we headed out into the Beagle Channel we soon had a WSW Force 7 mostly behind us, so we sailed most of the way to Porto Williams, arriving at 2:30.  This was our first taste of cold (5 degrees C) windy rainy conditions but it was a short one.

We had to wait an hour or so for the already moored boats to shuffle and make room for us.  We are now moored alongside “Blizzard” who was moored along side us in Ushuaia a few days ago.  Four Chilean authorities visited us a few minutes after arrival and the paperwork was pretty painless.  They seem calm about our going to Antarctica and want to see our itinerary and for us to report daily positions to them.  We don’t check out when we leave here as they seem to regard Antarctica as part of Chile.
