Valdivia Update

My initial optimism about this repair was misplaced. When I left Valdivia on April 4th I had the impression the boat could be out of the water by the end of the following week.
Two weeks later on 18 April the mast was unstepped and on the following Thursday i.e. three weeks later, April 24th the boat was lifted.
Instead of returning to Valdivia last week as planned I have come back to Spetses for another week and will leave London for Valdivia on May 12th. I hope to be underway towards Easter Island a few days later.
When I first planned this trip we scheduled to depart Valdivia on April 1st. After the debacle in Gran Canaria, I rejigged everything and should have left Valdivia on April 25th. It now looks like May 17th unless something else goes wrong.
I had planned to get at least as far as Fiji before heading off to NYC for most of the month of September but it seems we will only make it as far as Tonga. Still, I suppose it’s a nice sort of problem to have.
