We actually had a sunset this evening and dined al fresco in the cockpit for the first time. Shortly after sunset a nearly full orange moon rose. The wind carries on West Force 4 so we’re leaving the cruising chute up for the night. And the dolphins came again to check us out. Boat speed down to 6 knots.

Quiet night.  Boat speed dropped. Cloudy but not oppressively grey morning. John reports a great moonset.  The early morning gang of dolphins came to show off for a while.  The light wind looks to be set for at least another 24 hours although it may improve a little  tomorrow morning.

260 miles to go. ETA looking like late Tuesday PM/ early Wednesday AM.

Wind down to WSW Force 3. Pressure up to 1028.5 mb so we’re definitely in the Azores High.  Thanks to the cruising chute we are able to maintain just enough speed not to be tempted into motoring again.  It actually a sunny day and its t-shirts and shorts in the cockpit.

It’s been a soporific day, lolling about in the sun while we ghost along at 5 to 6 knots in a glassy sea, The Atlantic has transformed to The Pacific, or at least how The Pacific is supposed to be.  This is the first crossing when we’ve never caught a fish.

At a 24 hour run of 140 miles it must be our shortest distance on record.  With 202 to
