Still grey.  Cooler.  Wind had been blowing from the WSW for some hours now and the sea is beginning to build a bit. Making 8 knots.

04:15

The wind went West and we’ve been poled out for the last three hours and making a healthy 8 knots. Last night we crossed paths with a US Navy Warship. A young woman radioed to very politely request to pass Starboard to Starboard.  The ship passed about 4 miles away with very little running lights and no AIS. Adam was convinced Steve was going to chat her up but in the end decorum ruled.

06:00

Another grey dawn BUT with a smidgeon of colour in one spot on the horizon. The wind has stayed West  and dropped a bit along with our boat speed

10:00

The grey closed in again, but it’s a brighter shade than we’ve had for the last 5 days.

In Nantucket Steve noticed the  Fridge/Freezer water cooing pump was leaking so he changed it using our spare.  It has stopped working after less than two weeks.   He’s just put the old one back, but is using the case from the new one in the hope it doesn’t leak.

15:30

We’ve set the clocks forward one hour. And the sun has appeared!  We’ve also dug out the Cruising Chute and boat speed is up again.

17:00

Still broken Sunshine.  Last night on Adam’s watch he was visited by a pod of 15/20 Dolphins.

The wind has been up and down over the last 24 hours so we only made 167 miles.
