Last year when we anchored stern-to at Denerau we had to do it three times to get the anchor to bite. This year we got it first time and were feeling pretty smug until the next day when the wind shifted 90 degrees to the beam and popped the anchor out. It took two goes to get it to set.

I took Demetri’s iPhone to a repair shop and they spent several hours trying to make it work but as there are no spare parts in Fiji they gave up. I was directed to a shop where I could buy a new iPhone. I was surprised at the price about £125. It turned out to be a Chinese sort of clone, it looked like an iPhone until you actually turned it on and of course the computer wouldn’t speak to it at all. They must have known I was coming for as I entered the shop to return it, it took about 15 seconds to get my money back. It was sitting ,waiting, all counted out.

This morning we took on 900 litres of fuel and wondered over to Muscat Cove for a couple of days, it’s only a couple of hours from Denerau. We stopped here 10 years ago on the rally and again last year. We’re going to have a barbecue on the beach tonight . The resort provides the fire. The 3G signal seems top be working here as well. Steve and Demetri are busy down loading films.

There are a couple of pics leaving Bega, sunset in Denerau and a psychedelic mosque which has just been refurbished.

THe connection isn't good enough to send the pictures. Will try text only and send them when we get back to Denerau on Friday
