There was no wind this morning but as soon as we left up it came. We had planned to visit Kawau Island which has been likened to Cowes, but it’s nothing like Cowes and the deep inlet was completely open to the West and the wind was funnelling in, so it wasn’t a great place to stay.  So we have carried on to Gulf Harbour Marina which has over a 1000 berths and is in the middle of nowhere.  It boasts a golf course and has quite a lot of facilities but you definitely need a car.

Our daily run was a modest 30 miles and we had that rare combination of lots of wind and almost no sea.  Tomorrow we will go to Auckland which is less than 15 miles away.
