Okay I was not going to leave right away but when I got up and spoke with our neighbor it was time to get out of here.  Forecast was for larger winds later in the day.  We watched a few boat leave and it was not so bad.  So I woke Pat up from her fitful sleep up in the forward cabin to get away from the screaming of the stern lines.  “We are leaving get ready I will check out from the marina”.  Not the first time she heard those words from me early in the morning.

After forever it seemed we got all the lines untied from the dock and headed out.  The seas were large but not enough to turn around.  Turning north I promised Pat the seas would drop in size, well at least I made the gesture.  It turns out I was right for once.

After a short seven hours we entered La Spezia and berthed at Porto Lotti, a club type marina.  It was great coming into a place where the water was really calm and the berths were very secure.  After at least 10 days of rolling around at anchor or in rough marinas it was a very welcome change.  Expensive place but we did not care. The surrounding views are great even though the immediate area is shipyards and military bases.  Inside the marina it is great with a swimming pool (we did not use it as the weather has not really gotten hot this year).
