After the trip it was good to have a few days rest.  Riposto hasn’t changed and we went to the same stores to get fresh produce and groceries.  The Vodafone store was a good hike but good exercise walking to the next town.

Work continues on improving the harbor wall for the winter seas.  The extension to the breakwater has improved the harbor and they continue to add huge concrete blocks to stabilize the wall.  Maybe there will be enough this time around.

The water seemed clearer than last year in the marina.  Maybe it was just the currents flushing it out but nice to see.

Did a few repairs and washing of the boat.  Installed a new pivot for the passarelle on the lower steps.  So now it is firmly planted when we stern to at low floating docks.

Again this year we watched the fireworks for the foundation day for Italy.  Not a huge event for most Italians since it celebrates the 1946 forming of Italy after the war.  They lost all the colonies and other adjacent lands, but that’s part of life after a war.  Many take advantage of the Thursday Holiday to make a four day weekend so the marina was active with locals on their boats.

So bye to Greece and hello to great food again.  Italy is always alive.  Greece today is broke, discouraged and protesting more and more.  The islands seem to ignore it but Athens controls the economy and it’s not good.  Glad to be in Italy.
