Today we spent the day walking and walking around
parts of the island. Visited the next town of Lacco Ameno, quaint, many
little shops and cafes. It seems everyone with a car, scooter, truck or
motorcycle drives all the time. Constant traffic, where are they all going
all the time?
There is a small marina here with the locally
famous rock.

In the afternoon we spent a few hours in the
Giardini La Mortella. The wife of British composer William Walton started
the gardens in 1956 and gave it over the the Fondazione William Walton e La
Mortella when he died in 1983. Built on a western facing steep hillside it
is a beautiful collection of tropical plants from around the world. There
is a small outdoor theater built in the hillside that is used for musical
events, concerts and cultural activities. Located about one kilometer out
of Lacco Ameno it is a short taxi ride.

gave me the map in German so I thought I should a least provide the
German translation.
