Enough sitting around waiting for weather time to continue making progress north.  We left the marina with a few bareboat charters going out with us.  As usual they are full throttle getting out of the marina even if it means trying to pass when there is no room.  A few encouraging words to them slowed them down.  Motoring out of Kastela Bay was the best plan just simply to put room between us the charter boat.  Persevere can easily do 8 knots while the charters would be hard pressed to make 7 knots.

Now that we had some breathing space and were out of the bay we set sails.  Wind direction was not the best but we were sailing again.  Averaged about 5 knots for a couple of hours until we needed to squeeze though two islands.  So sails in and motor on due west right into the wind.  Still not bad time.

Our destination was a resort type marina called Frappa.  Just wanted to see it more than anything else.  It was also a good stopping off point.  Marina Frappa is on the mainland and has been continuously enlarged.  The charts do not show all the latest additions and the pilot books talk about the future plans but are dated.  No big deal the staff at the marina is ready for the onslaught of one night visits.  A new quay has been constructed for that purpose and can accommodate at least 40 boats each night.

The marina also has a small hotel, swimming pool, chandler, shipyard, restaurants and old quarry that is full of freshwater and risky teens diving into it.

The marina is next to a town called Rogoznica which is about a one kilometer walk.  The town is on a island that has been joined to the mainland by a recent causeway.  The town is mainly restaurants with a few shops.  There is also a town quay which some boat can berth.  Nice little town, we had a very nice lunch there.  On the mainland side of the causeway there are grocery stores, produce market, trinkets and banks.  In the evening there is one of those motorized tourist trains to shuttle people between the marina and the town.

We stayed two days just to have a chance to see the town.  Otherwise it is not worth more than a night stay.  The electric supply is also not the best.  Several times it went out is selected sections.  Seems to be some bad connections.

Another waterfront view.  Nice place with a few small restaurants.  In fact one of the best steaks we had was at the place on the left of the picture.  Not just a good Croatian staek but a good tender and large steak by any account.
