Trip to Zea Marina was a non event.  Lots of ferry and ship traffic around the city.  Hydrofoils running at 35 knots come out of nowhere at times, they do not always run AIS to help with identification.  But arrived safely and into the marina we visited before this past fall.  Came here to repair a few items and get fuel.  Many of the blocks (pulleys) have come to the end of their life and we needed to get replacement propellers for the bow thruster that ate something in Olympic Marina.

 

Piraeus, the actual town we were located, is a great place in Greece to get supplies.  They have many marine stores, large supermarkets, and many specialty shops.  It was easy to get since we already knew the place well.  Three days here was plenty and gave time to make nearly all repairs except the bow thruster.  I was not going to dive into the disgusting harbor waters here.  Plenty of flotsam, oil and just plain trash.  The marina is a collection point for anything floating the way the winds circles around inside.

 

Nothing else knew, met some shop owners again that we used before and they remembered us which is nice.  Did find a very nice wine shop that carried the Santorini wines we liked as well as one of the largest selection of Irish and Scottish whiskies I have seen. 

 

So restocked and full fuel and water tanks we will head off to the Corinth Canal and Itea next.

We felt well protected with this cutter? sitting outside the entrance.  It was there the whole time and another came in.  Maybe for some celebration or to ward off the constant protests in the city of Athens now.
