It was nice relaxing for a few days in Sibenik marina without a schedule.  The weather was a little iffy but it was just enough of an excuse to hang out.  Leaving we stopped for fuel at a Lukoil dock.  Nice and deep with several berths making it a very easy process.  Nice attendants also.

Out through the narrow canal and over to O Kakan and the moorings in U Potkucina.  We tried to sail but the morning winds had no patterns and shifted constantly so back on the motor since it was only a three hour trip.  The moorings at Potkucina are really just a bus stop or rest stop on the NJ Turnpike.  Northing special except they are there.  Protection from the winds is not the good (contrary to the pilot books) and the mooring tend to be too close but it was okay for a one night stay.

Womens Work!  All over the islands there are these stone walls created by women over the centuries making scraps of agricultural land and marking off grazing areas for sheep and goats.  Just amazing amount of stone has been moved to eek out a vestigial existence.  Why women did this work is not known to me.  The men must have been doing important things like fishing, making wine or just plain hiding.

North side of the bay from out mooring.  The center is sand bottom and has good holding but the moorings are easy to use.  Marine life is sparse.

Just another view.  The bay has 60 moorings that are concessioned out.  I swam down on the ropes and chains and they are in good condition but the mooring blocks, concrete, are on the small size, probably only one ton.  The proprietor collects the fees and take garbage.  We paid 250 Kuna for the night (about 45 Dollars).  All the mooring are in around 7 – 10 meters (21 – 35 feet) with short lines leaving the deeper center open.  If we returned I would anchor out.
