Only a 11 mile trip and we are in Greece.  Back to the Kos Marina for entry procedures and a chance to buy Cottage Cheese and real ham cold cuts.  The Marina is just opening for the season but the grocery store was operational with the same great owner.  He always gives us a local white wine when we depart.  Never in Turkey would you get a free bottle since the tax is so high it is not something they give away.

The trip over was boring as hoped for.  No wind just a 1+ hour motor until we reached the marina then 25 knot winds.  No big deal we were side to along the outer quay as usual.  Contrary to what you would think water is free at the marina and very high pressure.  Many marinas give free water or have a small charge for it but they also keep the water pressure so low it is never worth filling the water tanks unless you have hours to kill.  Here the water flows and is good quality.

We stayed two days while the winds grew from the south, not normal.  So the waves came and broke on the outer sea wall sending spray over and onto the boat at times.  Some places got small stones sent over also with the water.  Still a good marina with many things right in the marina and it is only a short walk to town.  In town I renewed my Greek Vodafone access for the internet and got cash at the ATMs.  Since we were here already nothing new to see in town.  McDonalds is still open as are all the normal tourist shops.

After hours of high winds we got hours of high winds with some sun.  Looking at the weather forecast Thursday was a break to get out before the winds swung to the north and grew.  So we arranged for the departure, checked out with the marine police who are in the town.  In the summer they open an office in the marina.  At 11:00 am we were ready to go and set off without a problem.

Only picture of Kos marina when the southerly winds make getting fuel impossible or getting boat in and out onto land.
