After two days in Ormos Vlikho, Lefkas we made the short trip to Nisis Meganisi.  Actually it was a long trip since we decided to sail.  Of course winds less than 5 knots at the peak did not help.  We also needed to spent some time in clear water to make more freshwater with the desalination unit.

Once we got to the island we found a nice cove to anchor.  Now the charts and pilots guides show the cove, but in the wrong location by about 30 meters.  This is very common in Greece as the charts were originally made in the 1800’s and do not quite match today’s GPS.  So we anchored off, jumped into the dingy to check out the depths closer to shore.  Everything was good so we re-anchored closer to shore and tied off to some rocks.  This turned out to be a very good things as the winds came from the Northeast that evening.  Our bow was nicely positioned into the waves and we barely moved all night.

The water was pretty clear in here and the marine life was a little better than other places we have been.
