Here are a few pictures of Taormina just north of Riposto on Sicily.  This town was built way up on the hills about one kilometer from the coast.  In the last years they have turned it into a tourist town but hey, it is very nice, clean and has great restaurants.  Of course all the major high priced brands have shops but there are some nice local shops that sell wines, olive oils, pistachios (Bronte claims to be the capital of this nut), local art and jewelry.

Lunch in Taormina and I have a stupid look.  Great food, local seafood with excellent preparation.  It sometimes takes a while and you wonder if they lost your request but in reality they are making the best meal they can and time is not important.

Every step and stair get used to sell to tourist but they work is very good.

And of course the Greeks found their way here in the past and built a theater.  It is still in use today as evidenced by the wooden stage.  Fantastic views of the sea and hopefully a cool breeze at night during the shows.
