Another boring motor up north.  No wind at all, just some rolls.  Long trip, 79 miles that took 10 hours and 20 minutes.  Not much of interest along this coast and the smaller marinas are not large enough for us so Maratea was the goal.

Once at Maratea we called on the radio but they only speak Italian here.  No issue just come in and the dock workers are ready to take your lines.  This time we were at the floating docks near the entrance.  Good stout bow lines and sheltered marina from the swells outside.  They built a huge wall along the outside edge to handle the winter storms so inside it is a bit enclosed.  High above is a statue of Christ with his arms spread open, second largest after Rio.

Inside the marina it is a fishing village converted to a tourist place.  Not badly done by any means.  The restaurants and shops occupy the former fishing homes so it has kept some of its flavor.  Nice mix of pleasure boats, tourist boats and the fishing fleet.  Along this part of the coast secure harbors are hard to find and this one has kept a nice quality for everyone.
