We decided that because the Pacific was effectively closed to us for possibly the next two years that we would fly home . At the time covid rates in Wales were very low and being vaccinated ourselves it seemed s safe thing to do .

We lifted out at Oceania Marine ,Whangarei where L'Esprit de la Mer will be secure untill our return -who knows when .

The long journey home was via Singapore with Singapore Airlines . We travelled business class so very comfortable with lie flat bed .Arrriving at LHR at breakfast time we went straight through immigration and customs and into our daughter's car for the drive home .

Strange to be home after two years away and sleep in a bed! Unlike NZ the UK is not covid free and we have to learn to be careful . Pubs ,clubs and venues had recently reopened and the holiday season was in full swing bringing covid across the border into Wales from England .
