After drinks and pot luck supper last night we joined the sea Mercy effort today rebuilding the school at Makagai village .This involed a 3 mile trip by long boat along the reef to the end of the island . The village was devastated by cyclone Winston and much of it destroyed . We helped with painting the partly erected school house . The long boat engine brke down for the return trip and we had an exciting high speed tow from the local fijians . The village is in a valley opening onto the beach and is surrounded by banana groves . No bananas though . We will stay here helping for a few days
