L'Esprit de la Mer

The winds yesterday remained strong from the southeast. We continued to shelter in Haapu Bay.At 3 am the boatlrched waking us both. The wind had gone south west and was blowing us near to the bank where we would ground.Just as I started the engine the keel struck . It was   moments before I was able to power off. Then followed  2 hours of using the engine to keep L Ésprit de la Mer afloat. Finally we hauled the anchor with Pennny at the helm and made our way to the mouth of the bay where we sucessfully reanchored clear of shoals but somewhat in the wind.
Today the weather has moderated so hopefully a better night
