It is of course SuvaSuva. Sevu sevu is the drinks ceremony we go through when the chief of each village greets us. We present him cava root which he accepts and then offers us his protection .
Suvasuva is gorgeous . Lovelly town with wonderful market full of fruit, vegetable and spices which flavor the air . Around the market are small kiosks and stalls selling Indian and Fijian food . The locals are friendly and scrupulously honest . The watch maker refused payment after spending 30 minutes trying to repair my watch strap . A stallholder smiled and returned a coin when I gave him 2 two dollar coins for a 2 dollar item .
We met Robin an expat vet who has turned property developer this afternoon at his marina and may try him when we return . The windy weather has meant there are more
boats here now than when we arrived and it is noisier. Expect to move on mid week but will do a little touring first.
