We are again at anchor off Kapa island .The village
is at church and earlier the omu´s were lit for the sunday feast.This week has
seen a lot of cloud with some warm rain .
On thursday after water making I found the staring
battery flat . I had forgotten that the new water pump runs off the starter
battery . Unfortunately the house bank did not have enough charge to start
engine and genset would not start by hand crank . Major problem at the time .
Fortunately the next boat was also a 411 and owned by a French electrical
engineer . We used his battery to start and went into Niapu where we were
able to buy a new battery . there´s luck .
That night Grainado ( michel) whom we first met in
Salvador anchored near us .
This morning the net gave news of two volcanic
eruptions quite near to us but fortunately no news off tsumani as yet
.
Today we stay here . It is calm and sunny and we
plan to visit `swallows cave´when the sun is high this afternoon .
Vegetarian diet still going strong .
