Sailed west today and found Heafeua island . Not
where we planned to be but seemed well charted and we passed the village to
enter the reef on the west side. Nicely protected with views across the sea to
the huge cone of Kao volcano which rises as a perfect cone from the sea 30miles
away .No other boats here and lovely and calm anchored in 7 metres . There
is even a beacon in the entrance to mark the shallow patch to be avoided
