Another good morning sail with a force 5 blowing from
the North East. This soon petered away to a breeze however, and we
wafted along further south under a blue sunny sky. The seas were
still big, but getting better.
It
seems there is a fishing contest going on amongst the fleet. Somebody
called us on VHF to tell us that they had caught 5 mahi-mahi fish! I
replied that I had got a tuna, but had already canned it for storage and did not
know how big it was!!?
I
think I heard one side of a small drama going on, on VHF. A Spanish
aircraft was liaising it seems with another competitor in the ARC, concerning a
small boat that was adrift, and had asked the ARC boat to stand on for 12 hours
while help arrived.......what this was I don't know, but I'll find out during
tonight's SSB chat I guess.
Spent most of the day trying to get my Hydrovane self
steering to work - but to no avail. Maybe
tomorrow....?
