Well we thought we would spend some time at the Selvagem Islands, but when we got there (to Selvagem Grande), we found out that it was just a lump of volcanic rock in the middle of the ocean, one mile square and populated by 6 men, one dog, 2 houses and a colony of petrels - being filmed by a team of 3 guys!   It looked dark and foreboding as we arrived, but we found an anchorage, and it must have been the only one around the island, just offshore from the two houses.   There was a bit of a swell running and we decided against going ashore, remaining instead on board for a decent meal and a sleep.   The crossing from Madeira had been rough, and at times I felt myself looking up at the wave tops that threatened to crash over our transom, so we were looking forward to some rest at Selvagem Grande.

Next we wanted to go to La Palma, but as always the wind was not right, and we settled for Tenerife!   We had another reason for going to Tenerife too.   Anette's cousin Juliana, worked there as an architect and we were looking forward to a family reunion!    I managed to take some photo's of the 2 girls together, but I'm afraid only some of them turned out.    Anyway, at Tenerife now, and we are wondering what to do and where to go next - apart from the chandlery that is - for some more shackles!

Some photos attached of the girls having a drink or two (?!), us gull winging and Selvagem Grande ( one of the only houses there)
