Before the outward Atlantic crossing, it became a major (and unsuccessful)hassle to get my UK butane cylinders refilled in the Canaries. Concerned that we would not have sufficient gas for the crossing we ended up paying for Oliver to fly out with a connector hose from UK so that we could use local gas cylinders.
It was therefore a simple delight to be able to get a cylinder refilled here in the BVIs ( as elsewhere in the Caribbean), so we now have sufficient gas to get us to UK even if refills are not available in Bermuda.
The second good news is that Amy passed her covid test this morning and is now enroute ( via the exhausting route from Edinburgh with flight changes in Paris, New York and Puerto Rico!) armed with a spare propeller for Abby the dinghy, so we won’t have to rely on my dubious rowlock repair job to get ashore.
