After good crossing of the Martinique Channel, about 30 miles between Martinique and Dominica, with full easterly trade winds and ocean swell, the 25 mile trip up the west coast of Dominica was more sheltered, though winds variable between 5 and 20 knots so sails were in and out and engine on and off.
RAVEN was spotted by Louise off Roseau at the south western end of the island. It would have been more convenient to anchor there, but had to continue up to Portsmouth ( I wonder if they call it Pompey ?!) in the north west corner as that is the entry port.
