Having gone ashore to Marie Galante for breakfast with the intention of leaving afterwards, we decided that we liked the look of the island and needed to explore. A car hire was promptly arranged, only to find that the battery was flat! By this time, there was a degree of urgency as the rum distillery was closing at 1pm. Monsieur car hire guy duly gave us his car and off we set.
Distillery , excellent beach, stunning coastal cliffs, mangrove swamp walk and ice creams followed in quick succession and we were back onboard for a lovely sunset looking towards Les Saintes.
