After a boulangerie trip ashore and a late breakfast, we left the mooring near the town and moved all of a mile or so to another mooring in a beautiful little bay, Petite Anse as it is called which is sheltered by a hill called Pain du Sucre for obvious reasons! The bay was great for snorkelling, a lazy lunch and a siesta, in fact we were tempted to stay the night but decided to move to another bay which we thought would be a bit more off the beaten track and also very sheltered.
Whilst Anse Fideling was suitably picturesque and echoed to the sounds of bleating goats ( or was it crying babies?), it was not completely ideal as an anchorage as - due combination of other yachts, strange swirling winds, rocks and a slidy, sandy bottom, it was only on the 4th drop that we stayed put in a safe spot. That safe spot was also pretty rocky but we slept through it and had a good swim around the bay on the Monday morning.
