We are now in Basse Terre, Guadeloupe , berthed in a small marina. Having been moored out in a bay for the last few weeks it all feels a bit strange, a strangeness which is further exacerbated by the language being French and the currency being euros!
We only came to this marina as we had been told that it was where we needed to come for customs/immigration clearance, but it turned out that they have IT issues here so are not functioning as an entry point!
We knew that there was a curfew from 2000 , but had hoped to get an early evening supper of French cuisine, only to find that actually everywhere seems to be pretty much shut!
