Hi All
Today is our last day in the states, so flying back this afternoon. The worst thing is saying goodbye to Megan, we wont see her now till we reach Australia in November. Thankfully we both will have a busy year, her doing her 1st year of A levels, and us trying to sail 7,000 odd miles.
We have had a fantastic holiday, but now officially broke! Disney and universal was excellent, the Florida keys are interesting and yesterday we did the airboats and alligator farms on the Everglades. We went at first to the national park and walked through a conservation area, the bird life was spectacular, close up of birds catching fish and eating them, alligators lounging around with turtles etc. Then on to the fan boat which was great, they are such a weird sensation because of the flat bottom, when you throw them round bends there is no G force pulling at all. (Maybe that is just because we spent the previous week on huge roller coasters) We have a great pic of Callum holding a 4ft Alligator.
We managed to do all our shopping, bought a fancy new BBQ, covers for the ports so we can leave them open in the rain, an electric toilet so Jess can flush without help and a variety of other boat stuff.
So today we off to Miami, will go to the beach down the drive that you see on CSI Miami, have lunch, then off to the airport. We land in St Lucia at midnight so everyone should be shattered.
Vic and i are looking forward to getting back into a routine with the kids, school, beach snorkeling sailing etc. We also looking forward to getting out of St Lucia and exploring the leeward islands.
Hope everyone is OK
All our love
