Change of plans

Hi All

Since our last blog, we have changed the plans somewhat. We left Sotogrande
and went to Estapona, we tucked into what is probably the least exposed
anchorage we could identify in the western med. That night the wind came in
gave us the protection we needed but the swell was coming beam on and kept
us awake all night. Next morning we left for Marbella on the way to Malaga.
The wind was on the nose which made it extremely bumpy and uncomfortable. We
arrived at one of the Marinas, no space so called another, no space, so
headed for the 3rd (Puerto Banus). They had space but wanted 410 euro for a
night!!! That surely came with a chorus line of girls, a butler, chef,
cleaner and the best food and wines for the night with a west end show
playing solely for us. On enquiry, they said its for the berth, power and
water extra! So we high tailed it out of there, with the wind back to
Estapona where for the modest sum of 40 euro per night we could tie up.
For those following us, we have run out of options, so decided to go back to
Gib, provision, inspect the rig, pick up Meg and head for the Canaries. I
called Meg and she was excited about doing the 4-5 day passage to the
Canaries , then flying back from there to Madrid and SA. We checked the cost
and it was only 112 Euros for the flight, which is cheap if you compare it
to a few days in a marina. So booked and that is the new plan. We looking at
leaving either Wednesday or Thursday pending a decent 5 day forecast and we
out of here.
The moral onboard has improved dramatically as we have a plan, moving on and
getting out of the rut of just sitting at the "waiting place" For those of
you with kids, you may know the Dr Zeus book called "The places you will go"
It has a page on the "waiting place" It describes it as the most awful
place" waiting for a plane to come a fish to bite, wind for a kite etc etc"
That was Gib, so we off on our way with banners flip flapping and where boom
bands are playing.

Will let you know the day we leave and give passage updates on the way.

We don't even have any pictures at the moment, so will load some when we
have left the waiting place.
