Dear all
As you will hopefully see we are in Guernsey. We have been in the Marina for a few days doing odd jobs and keeping out of the cold. Sark was a wonderful island and if you keen to really get away from it all we would highly recommend it. The kids really enjoyed making sand castles, exploring the caves and checking out a huge crab.
Today we went to the smallest chapel "in the world" or at least in the channel isalnds. We also went to the underground hospital that the Germans built during the occupation of Guernsey. They used POW slave labour to build it and it took 3,5 years. By the time it was complete they only used it as a hospital for 3 months for casualties from the D-day invasions. Shortly after that as history will tell, they lost the war and i suppose the channel islands became "unoccupied".
Tim has attatched a set of wheels to our dingy, which means we will be able to roll it up the beach rather than sweating! Meanwhile i continue to do several loads of washing in the 'facilities'. Callum actually said he wanted to do some handwriting practice...is this my son?!!
Jessicas room. As you can see i was not allowed to leave anything behind!
Callums room. How many teddies - maybe we should start a zoo! this will also be the guest suite!
She can have a bath...in our new super dooper shower room.
The day we left Brighton.... The girls look more apprehensive than the boys!!!
My first shopping trip without a car. I had to get this stuff on and off the bus with Jess and a scooter!! My back did hurt, this is not a smile!!!!!
Fishing heaven in Portsmouth.
Before and after the first loaf of bread. I used Richards recipe, but by mistake put double the amount of yeast in!!! It is still fresh 3 days later, but also still not eaten, keep practising!!!!!!!!!
Arriving at Alderney
Happy - sticking can be done anywhere.
Not much more of this we hope - leaving Brighton.
