Hi All
As you may notice, we have not travelled far.
Calming the pace down a little and experiencing areas in more depth. We sailed
to some caves just out of Lagos and spent the afternoon exploring them on the
dingy. There were lots of tourist boats on the same route with commentary, so
not to disappoint, I started giving the kids commentary on the caves telling
them pirate stories of hidden treasure.
We then had a slow fantastic sail to Portimao and
sat in the tube being pulled by the boat under sail. Entering Portimao we have
hit our first anchorage with offshore cruisers. Some with kids others just
couples. I went around and chatted with some of the boats and invited them round
for drinks later. Cal met a 10 year old boy who had a little sailing dinghy so
he went off for most of the day sailing. After that they all came to our boat
(other boys had joined) and they watched free willy while we had drinks with 3
other boats in the cockpit.
We also managed to download a whole lot of movies
from one couple, which will come in handy when we need some
entertainment.
One of the couples stayed for dinner, he's a SA boy
and she is from Morocco. They had run a charter boat in the Carib for some time
and are now sailing to Turkey to run a gust house. They need a break from the
sea so they selling their Cat.
So we going to hang out here till Julie arrives and
then sail east and explore the last bit of the Portuguese coast.
Hope all is well

This one took some timing as the waves make it to
low to pass so you wait for a wave to go through and follow in the
trough

Drip castles are the new sport and we had a girl
boy competition on who could make the best
