Ok, i havent written anything for a while so i thought i had better give a womens perspective.
After shopping with rucksacks and bags we came across a wheelibag. It is fab, sleeck black not old lady flowery (Viv!!) Even Tim doesnt mind pushing it, think he misses the buggy, as you can push or pull...little things eh?
Our first night in Portugal and we decided to go out and eat. We had visions of Piri Piri with the hustle and bustle of the town. It was empty. The area reminds me of a russian post cold war environment. Empty but they have this local music playing over load speakers all the time. Kind of eerie. We tried to find the main town, we are still looking! The restaurent was empty and the town was empty. So as we were hungry i as usual could not make up my mind as to where to go...everything was still open. So Tim chose a little local looking place. WELL, after much ummming and ahhhing over the menu we tried to communicate with the waitress. I used moo, oink oink, cluck cluck, you get the picture, she laughed but the kids were in histerics!! How else am i meant to ask? Since then i have bought a phrasebook.
In Spain we have been on a quest to find the cheapest wine. It all takes OK, better cold. Andrew found one for 68 cents, and we beat that with 64 cents. That is about 60p!!! Portugese wine is expensive. We bought some today for 3ec. I was told off as it was too pricey!!
Schooling has started and at least the kids know that after breakfast it is school and they do concentrate. Jessica wants to work all day long...her way! this includes sticking and colouring! She has made huge progress with her letters and phonics, so i think she will be OK. Callums reading is amazing, we hear him read in bed and to Jess. We are doing Henry VIII at the moment, and he is most interested in the jousting. He could even tell grandad about the war of the roses.
Back to the food - we had a very interesting tapas of octopus...with contents, purple squidge, not what was expected. Glad i have that phrasebook.
Tim and i are exhausted from the constant chatter of the kids, any guests are welcome, but dont expect us to be around...only the kids.!!!!
Tim is washing guru. He has managed to do 6 loads of washing, drying AND fold the stuff, wait till he gets home!

Indepandance, its all about speed
