Hi All
Yes I can hear everyone saying, "the Schofields have become so boring since they left the UK" They used to be relatively interesting, we could discuss sport (especially rugby), world politics, business, high street shopping and even religion, but now all they seem to talk about is THE WEATHER. "Don't think we will invite them to the next dinner party unless those boring work colleagues come"

Well in our defense, it's not the weather, it's the wind! (yes a specialist topic for 10) I look at it as the 180 degree rule now. For ease and keeping weather as the main topic I'm going to call these fronts.

Warm front: (WF) Wind Easterly boat heading West waves behind good speed
Cold Front (CF) Winds westerly boat trying westerly washing machine

WF: Sailing at 7 kts hatches open fresh breeze through boat
CF the wave that came through the hatch and landed on the bed....complete with fresh flying fish

WF: The gourmet food Vicki is providing even on the roughest days
CF: The gourmet food Vicki has provided making a 2nd appearance on the cockpit floor or stuck in the head

CF. As mentioned before, we out of fresh vegetables
WF. We still have lots of cabbage
CF. The aroma the cabbage creates

WF: Me saying the Pacific crossing will definitely have trade winds
CF: The look from Vicki when I mention another ocean crossing

WF: Me announcing to Vicki, Kids Christian "Hey guys well done we half way there.
CF: Vicki it's 13 days and we only half way there!!

WF: Vicki getting woken up to her feet getting massaged
CF: It's 3AM rough and Tim's only doing it as it's her watch and he wants the bed

WF: Andrew giving position updates and saying we coming 3rd in the Cats
CF: Julie saying Head South quickly head winds coming your way
( By the way we probably get the most diverse weather routing, Julie my sister in Australia, Megan my daughter in South Africa and Andrew my brother in law in the UK)
The scary thing is they more accurate than the ARC weather!

WF: Vicki saying when we get to ST Lucia we can eat out shop, get massages stay in a hotel
CF: The look on my face

Yes our life is dominated by the wind, it can be kind and blow at a decent speed behind us and the boat surfing down waves. It can be calm and we have a swim or it can be on the nose with 5-6m waves.
180 dergrees change in wind can make our life go from pure bliss to absolute hell.... the good thing is it's only done this everyday since we left!
