Well, we have finally moved on from Gibralter and La Linea. It is a
convienent place to be, however, and we met wonderful people, whom we hope
to keep in touch with, however, it was time to explore some more.
We said our goodbyes to Neil, Rhunell, Peter and Ameil and not without
tears, decided to cruise up the Spanish coast towards Malaga, where we
collect Megan from the airport on the 14th. We were planning on travelling
inland to Morocco with her for a week, but due to our recent Moroccan
experiences and the difficulty of leaving the boat somewhere, we have opted
to stay in Spain, and see inland and have fun with the kids. We shall
sample the delights of Marbella, Malaga, Toremellinos, and others. The only
down side of this area we are told is that there are very few anchorages, so
we may end up in Marinas some of the time.
Spent a night in Sotogrande with our friends Peter and Christine and Steve,
and goodbyes to them today, we hope to see them in NZ if not before.
So on our way today to Espapona, under power. The med either blows or it
doesnt. Our trip from Gib to Sotogrande forcast 10 knots of wind, and we
ended up with 28!!! Well, at least we were sailing.
Will send photos soon.
