Hi all I think the last blog mentioned we leaving the bustle of La Coruna and heading for a few days to a quite anchorage to re group. It was great having Andrew and Lotti, but now we need to get to a normal life. This weekend we relaxing trying to get a normal pattern back rather than waking up at 11pm and going to sleep at 2 am...this includes the kids. Monday Callum starts grade 3 and Jessica reception. I think getting a routine with them will benefit everyone. Yesterday we had a great sail from La Coruna and our German friends that we met in the Channel islands joined us. We took a lot of pics of each other sailing which was fun. (just found out Vicki did not load them but loaded the short cut to a removable memory card which our German friends have just left with and we wont see them till ????)When we got in, we anchored and then took the dink into town for dinner. We really wanted some tapas....now small Spanish town tapas is quite different to the Spanish restaurants in the UK. We asked for a plate of each as we could not really decipher the menu. So starting with the norm..paella with crab and lobster I think. Sardines, large non gutted! 5 inch octopus's (octopuses, octopi) complete with their last meal still evident. Long tube shells with a worm like thing in and a few peppers, in salt granules. So when the kids decided that this was not exactly their norm I ordered a fajita con queso, this turned out to be a omelette type thing. So the kids and me (to a degree) settled for bread. The weather is still not great, early 20's with cloud every now and then. The water is also too cold to swim in but Jess does not seem to mind and has paddled out from the beach up to her neck on numerous occasions. Waves crossing Biscay, looks small but this was
huge
Andrew and Lotte happy to be in Spain
Sun rise on Biscay
Callum in haeven, the resturant had lots of old
weapons on the walls and the waiter got them down for him to play with....never
happen in the uk
Jess and Vic after Biscay
Cal and mom on the dolphin chair before we came
into Camarinas
Jan our German mate at the Helm under sail....we
should have plenty of us in the same pose!
