We are now on the beach in Gorey bay Jersey. Photos will follow on next broadband connection.
We had a fantastic sail from Guernsey yesterday with 15-20 kts behind us. We left 2 hours after high tide at St Petersport and filled up the diesel. Duty free at 58 pence a litre. Another Cat called Indiana with some German friends left a bit before us. We sailed a little faster than I anticipated and got here 5 hours before high tide. This meant waiting in deeper water while the tide came in. At 8 we went as far up the bay as possible and anchored. By 11pm we were on solid ground, a first for us so all very exciting.
We had our German friends over for dinner and had a few bottles of antioxidant with dinner while waiting for the tide to drop.
This morning unfortunately the tide was back in so the kids are waiting to get off the boat straight onto the beach and build sand castles under the boat! I have informed everyone to have their daily bowel movement before the tide goes out so we don't have little lumps next to the boat when aground.
So the next few days will be kids playing on the beach while I caress Karinya's bottom!
The anchorage or bay is really beautiful with a 13th century castle protecting beach as far as the eye can see and fancy houses overlooking us.
Wednesday we will go round to St Helier spend a day in the city then up to Herm on Thursday and cross back to Plymouth Friday or Saturday.

Note from Callum: if you don't send me emails I won't send you nice post cards!
