Its 6 in the morning, the whole family are tucked into bed I'm on watch and
here we are 10 miles away from Lands a grotte. The last 18 hours have been
under power which is annoying, but we have or will arrive in exactly 4 days
averaging 150 mile days bang on target. Now I know this is not a major
accomplishment as my wrist watch is more technically advanced than the first
space ship to land on the moon, but we are pretty pleased we here, on time
and in the correct location.
I came on watch at 4 am, and could just make out the lights on the top of
the volcano, that was 30 miles away, so pretty clear which is unusual as
these islands normally have a cloud on top.
Dawn has just broken and all the shapes of the mini islands are forming. Ok
I know they were there as my electronic chart plotter says they will be, but
still assuring. We now taking the range on it down to 6 miles where before
it was on the 100 mile range.
So on the trip we sailed about 60% of the time, used every different sail to
keep us moving (including the 2 metal ones that make a lot of noise) We
caught about 12 fish, hooked 4 others including a marlin which we saw jump 4
time out of the water. It was quite funny I was sleeping and Cal came
running into my room and shouted fish on. I grabbed the rod which was
screaming as the line went out, and said oh look a marlin has just jumped
out of the water. Then I realised it was because it was attached to the rod!
We were under sail so could not stop the boat and try fight it, after 3 more
jumps and dives the rod went slack and the fish was gone. Oh well next time
we will get one onboard. Cal reeled in his first fish, I saw it was a small
one so he could handle reeling it in, made him proud.

So we going to drop anchor, have a scotch and start exploring. Meg has 5
more days with us and then fly's out for Madrid and SA.

Hope all is well, look forward to hearing from you
