The subject says it all. Last 2 days in Alderney we had fog till lunch time. This morning we woke up early (for sailors) and set sail (motor) for Sark. It was a beautiful clear morning not an ounce of fog. As we headed for Sark the fog kicked in! Hope it will clear as we going to a fantastic sandy cove and will anchor there for a few nights. Sark is a motor free island where only bikes and horses are allowed. There is supposed to be some great hikes around the island which is only 3 miles long by 1.5 miles at its widest point. However it is quite high there are 299 steps up from the beach to the view over the islands.
We slowly getting used to boat pace and not rushing around as much as the first week aboard. We having a few minor niggles with boat equipment: The first was the water maker! I started it but no water was being pumped. After half an hour I noticed the person who installed it (you know who you are) connected the water intake to the output and visa versa so we were making lovely salt free air. Easy to change but need a heat gun to get the pipes off the fitting! So it will have to wait till we in a marina. Fortunately we carry 500 Lts in our tanks which should last 2 weeks even with showers etc. We also noticed 1 of the turning blocks on the dingy davits has seized so we need to replace that. The radar is being temperamental so I need to check all connections. The sat phone is also playing up which has been an issue for a while if we don't sort out in the next 2 weeks we will trade it in for a new one. Other than that its smooth sailing. Will download some pics when we in a wifi area and answer any emails.
