After the water maker is now fitted and working, we are planning on leaving
to go to Morocco as we are sooooo bored here. HOWEVER we have one important
date to keep.....the rugby Tri Nations. SA vs NZ. there are a few of us
with 2 NZ guys and SA guys, they get everywhere!!!!
The children have had lots of incentive for schoolwork, as the South African
family we met have 2 boys, aged 6 and 8, so they want to play...but only if
you do your schoolwork. On that subject, they are doing well. Callums
writing and reading is improved 100%. His spelling is still needing work,
but it is better than Tims. Jessica's thirst for learning is so great i
just cant keep up. We struck luck and are spending some time with a New
Zealand couple, Christine and Peter. Christine is a primary School teacher
with loads of enthusiasm, and the kids adore her. She is also a music
teacher, and gave the kids a music lesson. They so enjoyed it and wish
Christine could sail with us always. She has been an inspiration and has
given me ideas to teach, guidance and confidence. I have actually enjoyed
Gibralter and Spain are annoying us somewhat. Tim decides to dingy into
Gib, leave the dingy and go shopping (chandlery), however on his return, he
got stopped by the Gib customs and severly repremanded. They almost
empounded the dingy and towed it away!!! I got stopped at the Spainish/Gib
border, as i had forgotten my passport, and they would not accept my driving
licence, so i had to return to the boat to collect it, which took ages,
considering i hadnt a dingy.
Then in the same day a friend of ours did get their dingy empounded. He had
gone to walk up the Gibralter rock at 7am. When he came back, his dingy was
not there! It took him a while and he got arrested, rights read, form
filling in etc. So you can see why we want to leave!!!
After a huge provision in Morrissons to buy lots of homely familiars such as
Shreddies and custard, we have stocked up for Morocco and beyond. but
before that we need to remove all cardboard packaging from the goods.
Apparently cockroaches can lay their eggs in the glue, so we dont want that.
We have also had our fair share of mosquito bites, and have sewn and fitted
netting to all windows, hatches and doors. The devils still bite so some
serious action is needed.
I have some photos and will try to upload them later.
Keep your messages coming, we do appreciate them, even if we dont manage to
reply straight away.
Take care and love to all.
