Yesterday afternoon we left La Coruna, and had a superb afternoon sailing. Once we turned the corner to head southwards we were on a reach in 16 - 18 knots of wind, with our speed logging between 8.5 and 9.2 knots. It was fantastic fun to be properly sailing with all of the sails trimmed.

Later the wind eased and backed to a northerly, so we launched the gennaker, and made 6 - 7 knots in 10 - 11 knots of breeze. We arrived at Camarinas at 8.00pm, and had a very peacefull night at anchor.

Today we motor-sailed to 44 miles Muros in the Ria de Muros. The wind was light, and South Westerly so we had the engine running at low rpm the whole way. The scenery is stunning, though shrouded in mist, and the promised drizzle has now set in.

There is plenty to see and do here in this Ria, so we may spend the rest of the week here, hiring a car in Portosin on Friday to take David and Helen to the airport.
